Smokey Joe Tyler

Late-night Delta Blues With a Crooked Grin

A veteran bluesman who’s spent more years than he cares to count playing juke joints, back rooms and roadside bars from the Mississippi Delta to Memphis and points best left off the map. Somewhere along the way he picked up a battered guitar, a taste for good whiskey, and enough questionable stories to fill several lifetimes—though getting the details out of him can be difficult. Backed by The Grifters, Smokey delivers his songs with a weathered baritone, an unhurried groove and the perspective of a man who’s made his share of mistakes…and apparently intends to keep making them.
